In conjunction with Ballyhaunis Community School, 5th and 6th class will be participating in the 'Peer 4 Peer' programme, as part of the Social, Personal and Health Education (SPHE) curriculum. The programme is delivered in four modules: 1. Communication Skills, 2. Friendship, 3. Decision Making - including mobile and internet safety and  4. Misuse and abuse of Alcohol and Smoking.
Each module will be taught over approx. one hour per week for four weeks, and began yesterday, November 23rd with a very enjoyable session on Communication Skills.
The programme also offers the pupils an opportunity to meet with students that they can see as role models for themselves and may very possibly identify readily with as they make their transition to post primary school.
